What:
Amped Enduro is a backcountry ebike enduro race held in American Fork Canyon, Utah, on September 26, 2026. Riders tackle four timed stages (three downhill, one mixed "power stage") connected by untimed transfer sections, with cumulative stage time determining the final result. The course covers roughly 25 miles with about 5,500 feet of elevation change, built around black-diamond climbs and double-black descents; specific trails stay under wraps until the a few days before the race. After riders complete the course on race day, they will enjoy a lunch at the venue, participation or spectating in the bunny hop competition, and awards plus a raffle.
Ethos - built for ebikes, not adapted for them:
Amped Enduro is more than a standard enduro race retrofitted for ebikes; it's designed from the ground up to showcase what ebikes can do. The trails have been hand-selected to demonstrate ebike capability in genuine backcountry terrain that would be very hard to access on a standard bike within a race-day timeframe. That philosophy is most apparent in the mixed-terrain "power stage," which deliberately combines technical climbs with some descents and flats rather than being a pure downhill run which rewards riders who can use their bike's power strategically across varied terrain rather than just point it downhill. We believe that an ebike isn't just a bike that is easier to ride, but a way to reach terrain and push limits that wouldn't otherwise be possible. Amped Enduro exists to test both rider and machine against that potential.
Who it's for:
Amped Enduro is aimed at advanced riders; those comfortable on black-diamond terrain in both directions and fit enough for up to six hours of high-altitude effort. Only Class 1 pedal-assist ebikes (max 20 mph, no throttle) are allowed, keeping the format grounded in pedal-assist riding rather than throttle-driven power.
Logistics:
Riders park and check in at Race HQ just outside the canyon, then shuttle to the start (self-driving to the start is grounds for disqualification). Full-face helmet, knee pads, and gloves are mandatory safety gear. There's one aid station on course, and riders are responsible for their own battery management since there's no charging or swapping mid-race; a constraint unique to ebike racing that directly shapes strategy and pacing. After finishing, riders can ride the 7.5-mile road back to HQ or catch a shuttle.
