01 Unbox and check contents

Remove packaging foam and zip-ties. Confirm the small-parts box has pedals, thru-axle and multitool.
02 Install the handlebar

Center the bar, set roll, and tighten faceplate bolts evenly in a cross pattern.
03 Fit the front wheel

Seat the rotor between the pads, insert the thru-axle from the non-drive side and close to spec.
04 Set saddle height

With the dropper fully extended, set height so your knee is slightly bent at the bottom of the stroke.
05 Install pedals

Grease threads. The left pedal is reverse-threaded.
06 Set suspension and tires
Set sag for your weight using your fork and shock manuals, then check tire pressure against the sidewall range.

Who is this bike for?

Shafer cyclists appreciate versatility in cycling, combining the love for both on-road efficiency and off-road adventure. This cyclist seeks the freedom to explore less-traveled paths, such as gravel roads, forest tracks, and light trails, without being limited by the capabilities of a traditional road bike.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, at checkout there are several options available for financing.

How long will it take to arrive?

Estimated lead times are listed under each model's size in the bike builder. Times may vary a little based on current conditions, frame size, color, and availability.

What is the warranty?

Each frame comes with a Lifetime Warranty. Ari-branded frames come with a transferable warranty as well.

What is the guarantee?

It comes with a 30-Day Love It or Return It Guarantee.

How does transferable warranty on Ari bikes work?

Ari-branded frames come with a transferable frame warranty available to the second owner. The second owner can receive a one-year frame warranty from the date they purchase the bike from the original owner. Warranty only transfers once. All Ari bikes must have the transfer documented from the original owner to the new owner here in order to qualify for a transferable warranty.

What is the assist speed limit?

Shafer HP is a Class 3 e-bike capable of assisting up to 28 mph.

Does a water bottle fit in the frame?

At least two full-size water bottles fit inside the front triangle on all sizes. There is space for water, tools, or bags, plus extra mounts on the fork legs so you can set your Shafer HP up for whatever ride suits you.

Can I use a range extender?

Yes! A water bottle-sized 160Wh range extender can be added to keep your adventure going.

What size is the battery?

360Wh of gravel-grinding energy.

What motor does the Shafer HP use?

Shafer HP uses the TQ HPR60 drive unit to give you 60Nm and 350W of assist in a lightweight and quiet package.

What tire sizes can I use on Shafer HP?

Clearance for days. Fits tires up to 700x58mm on a 30mm inner-width rim, or run up to 50c with fenders in commuter mode.

Can the Shafer HP run a suspension fork?

Suspension gravel forks such as the RockShox Rudy XL, RockShox Rudy, 32AX, MRP Baxter, or Suntour GVX can be installed on the Shafer HP frame. If you choose to get one on your own later, we recommend running the longer fork offset option (as close to 50mm as possible). The stock fork axle-to-crown measurement is 440mm.

What are the headset dimensions?

The Standardized Headset Identification System (SHIS) is IS52 / 28.6 | IS52 / 40 (45°). This is used with the 1.5”/1.5” headtube. We have chosen to use the FSA SRS headsets for simple, clean cable management. FSA ACR is also compatible if the matching stem is used.

What are the dimensions of the rear hub and rear axle?

The rear hub is 142mm x 12mm. The axle dimensions are M12 x 167.5mm long x 15mm thread length x 1.0mm thread pitch.

What are the dimensions of the front hub and fork axle?

The front hub is 100mm x 12mm. The axle dimensions are M12 x 118mm long x 14mm thread length x 1.50mm thread pitch.

Can the Shafer HP run an internal dropper post?

The Shafer HP can use an internal dropper post with a diameter of 27.2mm.

How will it arrive?

All Ari bikes go through our Custom Setup process, making sure the bike is fit and tuned specifically to you. They are test-ridden before delivery. If your bike is shipped to you, it’s still tuned and ready to ride and requires just a few minutes of assembly.
