SEA OTTER 2026 RECAP

April 24, 2026  ·  Ari Bikes

We showed up to Monterey with a lot to share. Here’s the full rundown — from a rideable 32” prototype that stopped the industry in its tracks, to two new electric bikes nobody saw coming, to Nik Nestoroff claiming his second Sea Otter Dual Slalom title.

PROTOTYPE

Our 32" Prototype Stole the Show

We brought something to Sea Otter that nobody expected: a fully rideable, full-suspension 32” prototype — and it became the centerpiece of the entire expo. The aluminum frame was built in four sizes (S–XL).

We’re still in R&D mode — testing geometry, learning what the bigger wheel demands from a frame. But this is real, it’s rideable, and it’s moving fast.

The coverage reflected just how much attention the bike drew. Here’s what the media said:

“I think it’s the most important 32” product on open display at this year’s Sea Otter. Maybe the most important 32” product thus far.”

“For its potential implications alone, I think I’m going to call this the coolest thing I saw at the show.”

"The talk of the tents"

“The one we wanted to ride most”

Meet the Wire Peak — Avinox Power at an Accessible Price

We teased the Wire Peak at Sea Otter: an aluminum eMTB powered by the brand-new Avinox M2S drive unit paired with an 800Wh battery . The M2S puts out 150Nm of torque and up to 1,500W of peak power, and Avinox’s new 800Wh removable battery brings serious range in a lighter, more refined package.

What sets the Wire Peak apart isn’t just the spec — it’s what you get for the price. We’re targeting under $5,000 at launch with three or four build options. At a show full of $10,000+ Avinox bikes, that stopped people in their tracks.

E-Gravel Done Right — Shafer DNA, TQ Motor

We also featured our carbon e-gravel prototype at the show. Think everything you love about the Shafer — big tire clearance, light, fast, and genuinely capable — but with the TQ HPR60 motor system integrated into the platform.

The TQ HPR60 is one of the most refined units available: compact, quiet, and designed to feel natural rather than intrusive under power. It fits the Shafer’s drop-bar, long-ride DNA better than anything else on the market. This is a new bike in development, not a Shafer variant — built from the ground up around assisted gravel riding.

Nik Takes the Win. Kailey Stands on the Podium.

Ari Factory Racing showed up and delivered on Kyle Strait’s brand-new raw, grassy dual slalom course at Laguna Seca. The results speak for themselves.

ELITE MEN’S DUAL SLALOM
1ST PLACE
Nik Nestoroff
His second Sea Otter Dual Slalom title — matched his 2024 win

ELITE WOMEN'S DUAL SLALOM

Top qualifier, earned her podium

Nik was the top qualifier and never looked back — the two-time Sea Otter Dual Slalom champion. Kailey came in as the fastest qualifier among the women and fought her way onto the podium in a stacked field. We couldn’t be prouder of both of them.
